Mahjong studios are popping up across the country, giving instructors something many could only dream about when they first started teaching: a space of their own.

For many mahjong instructors, it starts with packing up the tiles and teaching wherever there’s space for a few tables: homes, restaurants, coffee shops, clubhouses. As their businesses grow, some take the next big step and open a studio of their own.

What Happens in Vegas? Mahjong, Obviously.

Founder Shauna Bruckman turned her longtime love of the game into Las Vegas Mahjong in 2025, and recently opened a studio that now serves as home base for her thriving business. It’s a place for lessons, open play, leagues and events, all in a space that reflects her personality and the fun, welcoming community she’s creating.

  • And because this is Vegas, she’s also doing something uniquely suited to the city by offering visitors a hands-on mahjong experience away from the Strip.
